INSTRUCTIONS

Prep time: 5 minutes  |  Cook time: 10 minutes

Makes 3 sandwiches. Although you can use any bread and any cheese, good bread and great cheese do make this sandwich just a little bit more special. This is a quick and easy lunch or breakfast. Assemble, brown on each side, and serve. We sometimes serve it for breakfast with a soft-boiled egg and good tea.

Preheat a 12-inch non-stick skillet over medium-low heat. Spread the mustard evenly on 3 of the bread slices. Top with ham followed by tomato slices. Sprinkle the tomatoes with a little bit of salt, layer with cheese and remaining bread.

Spread butter on the outside of each side of sandwich and sauté for 4-5 minutes on each side, pressing the sandwiches lightly as they cook.

Serve immediately with favorite side
